Quindaro Was a Town and a Lifeline

Founded in 1856 by abolitionists and Wyandot leaders, Quindaro became a crucial stop on the Underground Railroad. Located along the Missouri River, it offered safety, shelter, and hope to freedom seekers escaping slavery from Missouri. Today, the remaining ruins stand as a powerful reminder of courage, resistance, and community.
